F'lomlok is a term coined by the Blaan tribe which stands for “hunting grounds”. The land where the present-day municipality of Polomolok, South Cotabato indeed used to be the favorite hunting grounds of the Blaans, which is just directly below the fabled Mount Matutum. From these hunting grounds to vast pineapple plantations, the people of Polomolok commemorate its humble beginnings and celebrate the graces bestowed to its people through the annual Flomolok Festival, which is being held in conjunction with the town’s foundation anniversary. Activities include a massive trade fair which exhibits produce from the town’s harvests and several entertainment activities which attract local and foreign tourists.
